Report: Potential OZZY OSBOURNE Concert Would Be A Nova Scotia First

November 21, 2007

Stephen Cooke of TheChronicleHerald.ca reports that OZZY OSBOURNE may be heading to Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada in January.

Dates posted online for a hard rock triple bill featuring Osbourne, horror rocker ROB ZOMBIE and new metal act IN THIS MOMENT show Maritime dates at the Moncton Coliseum on January 24 and the Halifax Metro Centre on January 26.

The Southern California quintet IN THIS MOMENT listed the concert dates on its record company web site at www.centurymedia.com. The band recently finished another tour with legendary metal band MEGADETH.

But a spokesperson for Montreal promoter Gillett Entertainment Group said IN THIS MOMENT jumped the gun by posting the concert dates, and that while Gillett is still working on a deal to bring Osbourne to the Canadian East Coast, the bill likely wouldn't include ZOMBIE or IN THIS MOMENT.

According to Gillett, nothing is official yet but an announcement regarding Osbourne and an opening act will likely be made next week.

A Halifax concert would be a first for Osbourne, although BLACK SABBATH shows scheduled for Halifax and Moncton in 1983 were cancelled, reportedly because the band’s massive custom-built stage wouldn't fit into the Moncton Coliseum. DEEP PURPLE vocalist Ian Gillan was singing with SABBATH at the time.
